The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has named Superintendent Abimbola Adebisi as the new Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command.

Her appointment, announced in a statement on Monday by Deputy PPRO Babasayi Oluseyi on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, follows the elevation of Benjamin Hundeyin to Force PRO.

Adebisi, who has served in various operational and administrative roles, holds degrees in English and Peace Studies, including a Master’s in English from the National Open University of Nigeria. She is also trained in child protection, human rights, psychology, and conflict management, and has completed the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos.

Beyond her academic and professional credentials, she is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and a member of several international bodies, such as the International Public Relations Association, the International Association of Women Police, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Her career postings include working as Staff Officer to the DIG (Operations), Personal Assistant to the CP of the Special Protection Unit, and most recently, PPRO Liaison Officer at the SPU, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The Lagos Command described her as bringing “a wealth of academic, professional, and operational experience” to the job, assuring residents and the media of her readiness to strengthen police-community relations in line with the IG’s vision.
