The Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) has dismissed claims that its property enforcement activities target people based on ethnicity.

The Authority’s General Manager, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike, said the weekly enforcement exercises follow Lagos State Building Laws and are not aimed at any particular tribe or community. He stressed that all properties sealed are those violating building regulations, and enforcement is carried out evenly across Lagos State.

Osinaike urged property owners and developers to ignore rumors suggesting that enforcement is directed at non-indigenes or non-Yoruba residents. He advised them to comply with planning laws, build according to approved plans, and contact their local LASPPPA office if they receive a contravention notice.

The announcement was made on Thursday night via X( formerly known as Twitter). The latest enforcement exercise covered Amuwo, Festac, Ojo, and Iba districts. Osinaike said the Authority remains committed to safe, orderly, and sustainable urban development across Lagos.
