‎Workers at the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) secretariat have begun an indefinite strike, citing unresolved labour and welfare issues.

‎The Joint Union Action Congress (JUAC) directed workers to withdraw their services, effective Monday, January 19, 2026, after authorities allegedly failed to address long-standing demands.

‎Key grievances include non-payment of promotion arrears, delayed promotions, and extension of service for retired directors and permanent secretaries, blocking career progression.

‎Workers also accuse the administration of failing to remit statutory deductions, including pension contributions and National Housing Fund payments, risking staff future welfare.

‎The strike follows a seven-day ultimatum issued on January 7, which expired without meaningful engagement.

‎Security operatives have been deployed to maintain peace, while the FCTA Administration has yet to respond.
