Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising the security of lives and property across the state.

The governor gave the assurance during the handover of 100 motorbikes and 10 Hilux patrol vehicles to the Taraba Marshal, a state-sponsored security outfit established to strengthen grassroots security and combat crime.

Governor Kefas, who was represented at the event by Nelson Lens, said the vehicles and motorbikes were provided to enhance the operational capacity of the agency in safeguarding the state and maintaining law and order.

He recalled that upon assuming office, insecurity had made it difficult for residents to sleep peacefully, but noted that the situation has since improved significantly, making Taraba a safer place for its people.

The governor commended the various security agencies operating in the state for their sustained efforts and also appreciated residents for their continued cooperation with security operatives.

In his remarks, the Commandant of the Taraba Marshal, retired Commissioner of Police Agyole Abeh, praised Governor Kefas for ensuring a conducive security environment in the state.

Retired CP Abeh acknowledged the consistent support the outfit has received from the governor, describing the recent procurement of the patrol vehicles and motorbikes as a continuation of that commitment.

He disclosed that the 100 motorbikes and 10 Hilux vehicles would be distributed across the 16 local government areas of the state to further strengthen security at the grassroots level.
