Lagos, Nigeria – A large refuse dump has remained at the Ekoro Junction/Ilepo axis in Lagos since December 2025, affecting residents, commuters, and motorists who use the busy route daily. The waste, including plastic containers, food remnants, and other discarded materials, has spread along the roadside, posing health risks to the community.
The Ekoro Junction/Ilepo axis is a major route in the Alimosho area, linking several communities and serving both commercial and private motorists. The presence of the dump has forced road users to navigate around the waste, increasing the risk of accidents and creating unsanitary conditions.
As of this report, AfrikTimes confirmed that the refuse has remained at the location since December 2025, with no visits from the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). The waste remains unattended months after it first appeared.
The dump remains on the road, blocking part of the route and creating health and safety risks for people in the area.
