By Nigeria’s First Lady and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated three mobile clinic units under the RHI’s Love on Wheels project to enhance healthcare delivery in underserved communities across the country.
Speaking at the handover ceremony in Abuja, Mrs Tinubu described the initiative as “care in action,” aimed at extending healthcare services beyond hospital walls, improving access, reducing response times, and supporting flexible medical services, particularly during emergencies and in hard-to-reach areas through trained healthcare professionals.
She disclosed that two of the mobile clinics were pledged to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on January 23, 2025, during the commissioning of the Nigerian Digital Museum in Abuja, explaining that the delay in their delivery was due to the need to construct the clinics from scratch and ensure they met certification standards.
According to her, the third mobile clinic was donated to the Taraba State Government, a promise she made during her official visit to the state on April 11, 2025, while attending a health programme for frontline healthcare workers.
Emphasising the non-partisan nature of the intervention, Mrs Tinubu noted that Taraba State was under a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) administration at the time of the pledge, stressing that service to Nigerians transcends party lines.
She reaffirmed that the RHI remains committed to putting people first, adding that while political campaigns have their time, official visits are focused on reaching Nigerians in need.
Mrs Tinubu expressed hope that the mobile clinics would be used responsibly to save lives, respond promptly to emergencies, and provide relief to families and communities across the country.
