The Osun State chapter of the Accord Party has confirmed Governor Ademola Adeleke as its duly nominated candidate for the August 8, 2026 governorship election in the state.
The state chairman of the party, Pastor Victor Akande in a statement today in Osogbo, said the confirmation followed the completion of documentation and submission processes with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which now lists Adeleke as Accord’s candidate for the poll.
“We are pleased to formally inform the good people of Osun State that His Excellency, Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, has been successfully uploaded into the records of INEC as the Accord Party’s candidate,” Akande said.
Akande maintained that the confirmation had addressed questions surrounding its nomination process ahead of the 2026 governorship in the state.
He acknowledged that the party viewed the development as an affirmation of its compliance with electoral guidelines and procedures governing candidate nominations.
“The confirmation by INEC is an affirmation that the nomination process has been duly concluded in line with the requirements of the law,” Akande said.
The party however, urged party supporters and eligible voters in the state to remain focused on electoral processes ahead of the poll.
