Nigeria and France Step Up Defence Cooperation, Army Reports

Abuja, Nigeria– The Nigerian Army announced this evening that General Shaibu met with Colonel Useo, France’s Defence Attaché to Nigeria, at Army Headquarters, Abuja, to discuss defence cooperation.

The Nigerian Army said General Shaibu commended France’s support in intelligence sharing, training, and operational readiness and reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to professional development.

According to the Nigerian Army, Colonel Useo commended the Army’s resilience in tackling security challenges and its recovery operations in Benin. The Nigerian Army emphasized that he also urged expanded access to military courses in Public Relations and Aviation and described the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information as one of Africa’s top institutions for civil military training.

The Nigerian Army added that Colonel Useo reiterated France’s commitment to deeper defence cooperation, and both officials said the meeting focused on strengthening operational ties between the Nigerian Army and French Armed Forces.
