The Nigerian Navy has reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, inclusivity, and operational effectiveness as Naval Base, Abuja conducted a manpower development training for Gender Focal Point Officers and Gender Advisers.
The training, held in Abuja, brought together personnel drawn from various units within the Base’s Area of Responsibility, designed to strengthen participants’ understanding of gender mainstreaming, advisory roles, and institutional responsibilities in line with global best practices.

Facilitators who spoke during the programme, emphasized the importance of integrating gender perspectives into planning and operations, noting that effective gender advisory structures enhance cohesion, discipline, and mission success.
The Command noted that the training aligns with the Nigerian Navy’s broader manpower development objectives and its commitment to fostering a professional and inclusive service environment. Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as timely and relevant to contemporary security and operational demands.
