‎The Adamawa State Government has announced the easing of the curfew earlier imposed on Lamurde Local Government Area, allowing residents to move freely between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily.

‎The decision was made public on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou.

‎Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri explained that the relaxation takes immediate effect but warned residents not to abuse the gesture. He emphasized that the measure was taken to restore normalcy while security agencies continue to monitor the situation.

‎“This gesture should not be taken lightly. Those behind the violence have been identified and will face the full weight of the law,” the governor stated.

‎He further warned that the era of leniency was over, stressing that anyone found breaching the peace would be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

‎Governor Fintiri urged law-abiding citizens to go about their legitimate activities peacefully, assuring them of adequate protection from the government.

‎“The government will continue to protect the rights and freedoms of citizens, but will not hesitate to act decisively against troublemakers,” he added.

‎The governor appealed to all stakeholders and residents of Lamurde to maintain peace and cooperate with security agencies to ensure lasting stability in the area.

‎The curfew was earlier imposed following security concerns in the local government, and authorities say the situation is being closely monitored.
