The Officer in Charge of Kofar Ran Primary Healthcare Centre in Bauchi, Hauwa Adamu, has disclosed that no fewer than 250 pregnant women benefit from free delivery kits every month at the facility.

‎Ms Adamu made this known on Wednesday in Bauchi, explaining that the initiative is part of the IMPACT Project aimed at promoting safe and hygienic childbirth.

‎She said the delivery packs contain essential items such as mama pads, nightgowns, bleach, umbilical cord clamps and hand gloves, all provided to support mothers during labour.

‎According to her, the kits are designed to ensure clean and safe deliveries for both mothers and newborns.

‎“We ensure that every woman who comes to deliver at the facility receives a free delivery pack,” Ms Adamu stated.

‎She further revealed that although the centre initially distributed about 250 kits monthly, the number of deliveries has increased to about 350 per month following its merger with the State Specialist Hospital.

‎Ms Adamu also noted that the antenatal clinic records high patronage, with between 80 and 90 new pregnant women registering daily.

‎Two beneficiaries, Fatima Shehu and Khadija Bappah, confirmed to journalists that they had received the free delivery items, describing the support as timely and helpful.

‎The initiative, she added, has greatly improved maternal care and encouraged more women to seek professional healthcare services during childbirth.
