Lagos, Nigeria- The Lagos State Government announced this evening that operatives of the Lagos Waste Management Authority Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement unit carried out routine compliance exercises across selected markets, plazas and commercial premises in Ikorodu.

According to the government, Notices of Intention to Seal were issued to several locations for failure to comply with waste management regulations. The affected locations include the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal, properties on NBC Road in Ebute Ikorodu, Ominu Ajasa and Royal Family premises, Ladega Market and Better Life Market.

The authorities said all affected markets, plazas and occupants have been given 72 hours to comply with the notice. Failure to do so, they warned, will lead to enforcement actions in line with existing laws.

The exercise was conducted within the Ikorodu axis of Lagos State.
