Senator Binos Yaroe, who represents Adamawa South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing deepening internal challenges at the national level.
Yaroe announced his decision in a statement to newsmen, saying he could no longer remain in a party he believes is drifting towards self-destruction. He described his years in the PDP as fruitful but lamented what he called the party’s current direction.
“After many years of fruitful journey as a committed member of the PDP, it pains me that the party has elected to self-destruct at the national level,” he stated.
The senator explained that the prevailing situation within the party left him with little choice but to withdraw his membership. He confirmed that he had formally communicated his decision to the appropriate party authorities.
According to him, a resignation letter was submitted to his ward chairman in Mbilla Ward of Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area, officially ending his affiliation with the PDP.
Yaroe’s defection marks the second high-profile exit from the PDP in Adamawa State this month, following the earlier resignation of former Minister of State for Health, Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong.
