Adamawa Assembly Passes Road Infrastructure Bill

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed the bill seeking to establish the Adamawa State Roads Fund, marking a significant milestone in efforts to improve road infrastructure across the state

‎The legislation, titled “A Bill for a Law to Establish the Adamawa State Roads Fund for the Purpose of Financing the Development, Rehabilitation and Maintenance of State and Rural Roads and Other Matters Connected Thereto,” successfully scaled its third reading during Tuesday’s plenary.

The bill was sponsored by the Majority Leader, Kate Raymond Mamuno, who represents Demsa Constituency. While leading earlier debates on the proposal, she explained that the initiative is designed to create a sustainable and reliable funding framework dedicated to the development, rehabilitation, and maintenance of roads in both urban and rural communities.

According to lawmakers, the establishment of the Roads Fund will provide a structured mechanism for generating and managing resources specifically earmarked for road infrastructure.

After its Third reading, the Speaker of the House Bathia Wesley directed the clerk to prepare a clean of the bill for Governor’s  assent.
