By Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, has shed light on his political divergence from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, attributing their separation solely to differences in party alignment.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television, Fintiri stressed that despite belonging to different political platforms, his relationship with Atiku remains cordial and respectful.
The governor explained that political choices should not be mistaken for personal conflicts, noting that both leaders have simply charted separate political paths.
“There is no strained communication with the former Vice President as a result of political differences,” Fintiri stated. “Nothing has gone bad. It is just that everybody has taken their political ways. I am today in APC, while they are in another party.”
Fintiri further emphasized that individuals genuinely committed to Nigeria’s progress must see themselves as partners in nation-building, regardless of party affiliation. He also reiterated that his current political stance aligns with supporting a southern candidacy, underscoring what he described as a broader national interest.
The governor dismissed suggestions of any breakdown in communication, maintaining that political disagreements have not affected their personal rapport.
