The Adamawa State House of Assembly has on Monday confirmed the appointment of three commissioner nominees as members of the State Executive Council.
The nominees are Idris Sali from Maiha Local Government Area, Engr. Muhammed Suleiman from Mubi North, and Chubado Muhammad from Jada Local Government Area.
The screening was presided over by the Speaker of the House, Bathiya Wesley, who chaired the Committee of the Whole during the exercise.
While commenting on the nomination of Idris Sali, the member representing Maiha Constituency and Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Ahmed Jingi Belel, commended his achievements in the civil service and described him as a committed public servant with an impressive record of service.
The Deputy Majority Leader and member representing Demsa Constituency, Hon. Mamuno Kate Raymond, later moved a motion for the confirmation of the nominees, which was adopted by the House.
The sitting ended with a brief commemoration of International Women’s Day led by Mamuno Kate Raymond (Demsa) after which the Speaker conveyed congratulatory remarks on behalf of members of the Assembly.
