Abuja, Nigeria
The immediate past Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has described the opportunity to lead the Nigeria Police Force as one of the highest privileges of his professional career.
Egbetokun made the remark while speaking at his pull-out parade ceremony at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, held in his honour after completing his tenure as the nation’s police chief.
Reflecting on his time in office, the former IGP expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the country at the highest level of policing, noting that leading the force was both a responsibility and an honour.
He also appreciated officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force for their support and dedication to duty throughout his tenure, urging them to remain committed to professionalism and service to the nation. Egbetokun’s pull-out parade marked the formal end of his service in the Nigeria Police Force after decades in law enforcement.
