The Women in Da’awa Adamawa State has extended humanitarian support to prison inmates and sick patients in hospitals across Adamawa State by distributing food items and other essential supplies as part of activities during the holy month of Ramadan.

As part of the outreach, members of the group visited correctional centres in Jimeta, located in Yola North Local Government Area, and Yolde Pate in Yola South Local Government Area.

Speaking during the visit, the Public Relations Officer of the group, Aishatu Babadiya, urged the inmates to see their time in custody as an opportunity for reflection and positive change.

She encouraged them to turn away from negative behaviour and expressed hope that once released, they would not return to prison.

Babadiya also advised the inmates to remain obedient to correctional authorities and maintain good conduct in order to build a better future for themselves. She further called on them to increase acts of worship, particularly during the last ten days of Ramadan, and seek Allah’s mercy and guidance.

The group also visited hospital patients where they offered special prayers, asking Almighty Allah to grant them quick recovery and good health so they could return to their normal lives.

They encouraged the patients to remain hopeful and continue praying for healing while commending hospital staff for their dedication and care in attending to the sick.

Some of the patients expressed appreciation to the Women in Da’awa group for the gesture, noting that the support provided relief and encouragement during their period of illness.

Items distributed during the outreach included rice, cooking oil and other essential household supplies aimed at easing the difficulties faced by the beneficiaries.
