Omoyele Sowore, a politician and activist, wrote on his social media platforms today questioning the justice system in Nigeria, where he claimed that a judge ordered his lawyer to kneel down.

He claimed that a judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Mohammed Umar, on Monday commanded his lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, to kneel down.

He said, “I am glad Barrister Marshal Abubakar stood his ground. He did not flinch. It was the judge, Justice Mohammed G. Umar, who had to adjourn and leave the courtroom. End of case!”

He also said, “You will never hear the Nigerian Bar Association do anything about this. They are only concerned about the tinted glass permit.”

Omoyele Sowore had a pending case in court on Monday, during which he alleged that all this happened. On the same day, Sowore cross-examined a prosecution witness from the Department of State Services (DSS) in his pending criminal trial over alleged defamation and cyberstalking of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
