By Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Tuesday arrived in Awka, Anambra State, joining other dignitaries for the inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo for a second term.
Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state witnessed multiple explosion on Monday night across three major locations in the state capital. The State Police Command confirmed that 26 people have died from the explosion while over 100 others sustained different degrees of injury.
It was expected that the Vice President who hailed from the State would have visited the state for an on-the-spot assessment of the incident but rather he went to Anambra for celebration. This is as the Presiden, Bola Tinubu also jetted out of the country to the United Kingdom on the invitation of the government of the United Kingdom.
