Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi today claimed that insecurity in Nigeria is getting worse. He said while other countries are going forward, Nigeria is going in the wrong direction.
On his official X handle today, Peter Obi said the rise in terrorism and violence is due to bad leadership, corruption, weak government, and the government not paying enough attention to security, which he said should be its top priority.
The former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, further added that attacks by terrorist groups are still happening, along with kidnappings and killings by armed bandits in rural areas. He shared that people are dying daily while those in power are not doing enough to stop it.
Obi questioned the effort of the government in protecting its citizens, asking why people are beginning to accept the occurring violence as normal while other countries are moving forward in terms of security.
He further added that Nigerians deserve better and called for quick action by the government.
