The Oyo State Police Command has announced a comprehensive security deployment across the state for the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Femi Haruna, extended greetings to Muslim faithful in Oyo State, congratulating them on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and urging them to uphold the virtues of peace, tolerance, and unity.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Command disclosed that strategic measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.
The Commissioner of Police has ordered the deployment of personnel, intelligence resources, and operational assets across key locations in the state, including Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, major highways, and other public places.
The Command noted that the initiative would involve intensified patrols, visibility policing, and enhanced security presence to deter criminal activities during the festive period.
CP Haruna also directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Tactical Units to ensure strict supervision of personnel and operations within their respective jurisdictions.
He further emphasised the need for continued collaboration with other security agencies and stakeholders to strengthen security architecture across the state.
The police urged residents to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and security conscious, advising them to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station or security post.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
