The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of a 46-year-old man, identified as Ahmed Mohammed, whose lifeless body was discovered hanging on a tree in Girei Local Government Area.
The incident was reported on Monday at the foothills of Bagale Mountain, where the deceased, a resident of Anguwan Hona, was found under unclear circumstances.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje.
According to the statement, the victim was taken to Cottage Hospital, Girei, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.
The statement noted that the police recorded a case of sudden and unnatural death following the discovery of the body at the scene.
Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
The police command also urged members of the public with relevant information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
