AfriikTimes earlier reported that the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced on his social media handles that the state would resume the monthly environmental sanitation exercise. He said it would take place on Saturday, 25th April 2026. The exercise is set to take place every last Saturday of the month from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM.
According to the Commissioner, the residents of Lagos are to clean their surroundings, clear the drainage channels in their environment , and dispose refuse in an appropriate manner. This is a shared responsibility that would help the state achieve a cleaner, healthier, and flood resilient city, the Commissioner said.
The Commissioner stated that the exercise would have the full enforcement authority of the Lagos State Government.
