President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mele Kyari, following the death of his daughter, Fatima. The President’s message was conveyed in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. Fatima, aged 25, passed away on Friday after battling a prolonged illness.
In the statement, Tinubu extended his sympathy to the Kyari family, describing the loss as painful and irreparable. He offered prayers for the repose of Fatima’s soul and encouraged the family to remain resilient during this difficult period.
Vice President Kashim Shettima also sent his condolences to Kyari and his family. A statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Stanley Nkwocha, noted that Shettima joined other mourners at the funeral prayers held at the Annur Mosque in Abuja. The Vice President prayed for Fatima’s peaceful rest and for strength for the family to bear the loss.
