The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reached a landmark agreement with Dangote Refinery to source petroleum products directly from the facility. Announced by IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, the partnership aims to ensure a steady and affordable nationwide supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) products.

Following recent discussions with Aliko Dangote and the refinery’s management team in Lagos, Garima confirmed that Dangote Refinery will directly supply IPMAN with PMS, Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) for distribution to IPMAN depots and retail locations.

Garima urged IPMAN members to support Dangote Refinery, emphasizing the benefits of local sourcing and its positive effect on Nigeria’s foreign exchange market. He encouraged members to rely on Dangote and other Nigerian refineries for white products, noting this partnership aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s “renewed hope” agenda and could boost job creation.

The agreement, a culmination of several months of negotiations, is set to streamline operations, reduce costs, and contribute to economic growth. Dangote Refinery, the largest in Africa and Europe, has already started producing petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel, and will supply products to IPMAN’s 30,000 members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide. This arrangement is expected to bypass middlemen, lower costs, and ensure a reliable fuel supply.
