In the lead-up to Saturday’s pivotal election in Ondo State, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has issued a call to action, describing the election as a critical test for Nigerians to turn their frustrations into transformative change.
In a statement titled “It’s Time to Make a Bold Statement,” released Thursday night, Makinde emphasized the importance of Ondo voters turning out en masse to advocate for good governance. He urged all those who prioritize progress and accountability to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arguing that the party has a proven track record in delivering results for citizens.
“The Ondo election is a litmus test for Nigerians,” Makinde stated. “Our collective hunger for change and dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs can fuel the change we need. Let everyone who values people-centered governance stand up this Saturday and reject the APC’s lack of citizen-focused policies. Now is the time to rally behind the PDP as the party capable of addressing Nigeria’s economic challenges.”
Citing the PDP’s achievements in various states, Makinde contended that the party is best positioned to steer Nigeria towards stability and growth. He pointed to the recent Budget of Economic Stabilization in Oyo State as an example of the PDP’s commitment to prioritizing people’s needs.
