By Nigerian music sensation Kizz Daniel, born Daniel Anidugbe, has announced a hiatus from releasing new music, leaving fans surprised by the unexpected decision. The artist disclosed that following the release of his upcoming EP, Uncle K, on November 29, 2024, he would not release any new tracks until 2026.
“After this, I no dey drop anything again until 2026,” Kizz Daniel shared on Friday via his X (formerly Twitter) handle, prompting mixed reactions. While some fans expressed sadness over his temporary absence from the music scene, others offered words of encouragement and support.
Since his breakout hit Woju in 2016, Kizz Daniel has become one of Nigeria’s most prominent hitmakers, with five studio albums and numerous chart-topping singles to his name.
The announcement coincided with news of a personal loss for the artist. Kizz Daniel revealed that his wife recently lost her mother to breast cancer. “My wife lost her mom to breast cancer, and I’m here mourning with her… Say a prayer for her mom, Vaddicts,” he wrote, addressing his fanbase affectionately.
Fans have since rallied around the singer, offering condolences and prayers as he navigates this difficult period while balancing personal and professional challenges.
