By Nollywood actor Aremu Afolayan has publicly apologized to his elder brother, filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, during their late mother’s service of songs in Komu, Oyo State.
A video circulating on social media captured the emotional moment as Aremu, also a businessman, broke down in tears while making amends with Kunle. The brothers had reportedly been estranged, with Kunle previously expressing concerns about Aremu’s lifestyle and its impact on the family’s reputation.
In his heartfelt speech, Aremu expressed regret for past actions and lauded Kunle for his efforts, including building a house for their mother before her passing. “I’m sorry for putting you through Instagram backlash; it’s because I love you. My money is not in this house, but he built it for all of us. Thank you, Brother Kunle,” Aremu said.
Their mother, Omoladun Afolayan, passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 81.
