Renowned journalist and former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu, has shed light on the financial challenges he faced during the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries. Momodu disclosed that he spent ₦50 million on the party’s nomination form but failed to secure a single delegate vote.
Speaking on the Key to Keys Show podcast, Momodu lamented the heavy monetization of Nigeria’s political system, claiming that some aspirants allegedly offered as much as $30,000 per delegate to secure their support. He described the systemic financial barriers as a major hindrance to fair competition in the country’s political arena.
