Nollywood actress, Joke Silva is grieving the passing of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva, who passed on August 29,2025 at age 72.

Earlier yesterday, she shared the news via an emotional post on her Instagram page, expressing her love and their long-shared bond.

‘With acceptance of God’s sovereign will, we announce the passing of my dear brother, John Olabiyi Silva…long John Silva….Bros B….Uncle B….my easy go lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd 1953-August 29th 2025”. She wrote‘.

His death comes at a difficult time considering their relationship and her ongoing responsibility of caring for a spouse battling dementia.
