The Adamawa State House of Assembly has received two important committee reports addressing social protection and insecurity in parts of the state.

‎First, the House Standing Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development presented its report on a bill seeking to establish a Social Protection Law for Adamawa State.

‎The proposed legislation is aimed at creating a legal framework to support vulnerable groups, including women, children, the elderly, and persons living with disabilities.

‎Meanwhile, the House also received a report from the Standing Committee on State Security and Sustainable Development Goals, chaired by Honourable Emanuel Kefas.

‎The committee presented findings from a fact-finding visit to villages affected by insecurity in Hong Local Government Area.

‎During the visit, the committee interacted with community leaders, residents, and security personnel to assess the situation.

‎The report revealed that several communities have experienced attacks leading to loss of lives, destruction of property, displacement of residents, and disruption of farming activities.

‎The Adamawa State House of Assembly is expected to deliberate further on both reports.
