The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Board has ruled that the Senegal national football team forfeited the final of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.
In its decision, the board stated that, in accordance with Article 84 of the competition regulations, the final match has been awarded as a 3–0 victory to the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF).
The ruling effectively overturns the original outcome of the final, handing the title to hosts, Morocco national football team by default. The forfeiture implies that Senegal is deemed to have lost the match due to circumstances covered under the regulations, though specific details surrounding the breach were not included in the statement.
The decision by CAF’s Appeal Board is final within the confederation’s structures, marking a dramatic and unprecedented conclusion to the tournament.
