Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Highlights Developmental Strides Across Adamawa
The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has continued to implement wide-ranging developmental projects across key sectors aimed at improving the lives of citizens throughout the state.
This was disclosed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Sunday Wugira, during a media briefing in Yola, the state capital.
Education Transformation
According to Wugira, the Fintiri administration has recorded remarkable achievements in the education sector. Modern schools have been constructed in all the 21 local government areas of the state, alongside the establishment of new colleges across the three senatorial districts.
Schools across Adamawa have also been equipped with teaching and learning materials to improve educational standards. In addition, the governor approved the recruitment of teachers from all 21 local government areas to strengthen the workforce and enhance service delivery.
These interventions, he said, have significantly reduced the number of out-of-school children, with a majority of children in the state now enrolled in school.
Healthcare Expansion
In the health sector, the administration has constructed major hospitals in several local government areas and expanded existing facilities. Numerous primary healthcare centres have also been built to bring medical services closer to rural communities.
Wugira added that medical personnel, including doctors and other healthcare workers, were recruited to address manpower gaps, while hospitals were equipped with modern medical equipment to improve service delivery.
Security Strengthening
The Special Adviser further noted that the governor has taken proactive measures to enhance security across the state. These efforts, he said, have contributed to a noticeable reduction in crimes such as theft and phone snatching.
Civil Service and Employment
On employment and civil service reforms, the administration has improved working conditions and recruited workers across various sectors. This initiative, according to Wugira, is aimed at reducing youth unemployment and boosting productivity within the state workforce.
Youth and Women Empowerment
The governor has also implemented empowerment initiatives for youths and women through vocational training and the provision of startup capital under the PAWECA poverty reduction programme. The initiative has not only supported economic growth but also contributed to peace and stability in the state.
Wugira called on the people of Adamawa State to continue supporting and cooperating with the administration to ensure the successful realization of its developmental goals for the overall progress of the state.
