The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted sub-committees for its 2026 National Convention, appointing governors, ministers and senior party stakeholders to head strategic units for the exercise.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC said the committees were approved to ensure a transparent, credible and well-organised convention. The party noted that the panels will oversee screening, elections, logistics, security, finance, media, accreditation and other programme-related activities.

Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Abayomi Oyebanji, will chair the Aspirants’ Screening Committee, with Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo as co-chairman and former Senate President Ken Nnamani as vice chairman.
The Screening Appeal Committee will be headed by Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, alongside Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru as co-chairman and former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as vice chairman.


Former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari will chair the Election Committee. He will work with former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim as co-chairman, while Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo serve as vice chairmen.
The Election Appeal Committee will be chaired by Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara as co-chairman and Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as vice chairman.
For venue arrangements, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun will chair the Venue Committee, supported by Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu as co-chairman, with Minister of Works David Umahi and former Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong as vice chairmen.
The Security Committee will be led by retired General Christopher Gwabin Musa, alongside Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri as co-chairman and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu as vice chairman.

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will chair the Finance Committee, with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as co-chairman and Minister of Finance Olawale Edun as vice chairman.
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni heads the Media and Publicity Committee, supported by Minister of Information Mohammed Idris and Senator I.D. Gyang.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio chairs the Ceremonial, Programme and Events Committee, with Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas as co-chairman and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume as vice chairman.

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum leads the Delegates’ Accreditation Committee, while Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu heads the Protocol Committee.
The APC urged committee members to discharge their responsibilities diligently and in line with the party’s constitution and approved guidelines. It also reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a credible and transparent National Convention aimed at strengthening internal democracy and consolidating its progressive ideals.
