The All Progressives Congress (APC) has secured victory in Saturday’s by-elections conducted to fill the vacant Ungogo and Kano Municipal seats in the Kano State House of Assembly.

‎The seats became vacant following the deaths of the former representatives of Ungogo Constituency, Aminu Sa’ad, and Kano Municipal Constituency, Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who passed away on the same day.

‎In the keenly contested polls, their sons emerged victorious. Aminu Sa’ad Sa’ad clinched the Ungogo seat under the APC platform, defeating Shua’ibu Hashimu of the Action Democratic Party (ADC), who polled 54 votes.

‎Declaring the result, the Returning Officer stated:

‎“Aminu Sa’ad Sa’ad of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”

‎Similarly, in Kano Municipal Constituency, Aliyu Nabil Daneji of the APC won with a total of 7,484 votes. His closest challenger, Shehu Ishaq Abdullahi of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), secured 105 votes.

‎Announcing the result, the Returning Officer, Prof. Ibrahim Tajo Siraj, declared:

‎“Aliyu Nabil Daneji of the APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.”

‎The by-elections were conducted to restore representation in the Kano State House of Assembly following the unexpected demise of the former lawmakers.
