‎Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Tuesday spearheaded a symbolic tree-planting exercise at the Eagle Sino Park in Bauchi metropolis as part of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the state.

‎A total of 50 trees were planted during the event to commemorate Bauchi’s Golden Jubilee and reinforce the government’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

‎Addressing participants, Governor Mohammed said the initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the fight against climate change and the promotion of a healthier environment.

‎He noted that the exercise was not only symbolic but also a call to action for citizens to protect and preserve the ecosystem for future generations.

‎The Governor described the 50th anniversary celebration as a period of reflection and renewal, urging residents to embrace unity, peace, and collective responsibility in moving Bauchi State toward greater progress and sustainable development.

‎In furtherance of the milestone, Governor Mohammed announced the renaming of Eagle Sino Park to “Bauchi Golden Jubilee Park.” He also disclosed plans by the state government to establish more parks across Bauchi to promote environmental conservation and social wellbeing.

‎Highlighting the achievements of his administration, the Governor said Bauchi State has recorded significant progress in critical sectors including agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, water supply, and security.

‎He emphasized that sustained peace and strong collaboration with security agencies remain vital to achieving meaningful development.

He added that progress is being made in cement production, mining, and oil exploration activities in the Kolmani axis.

‎The ceremony concluded with the planting of the trees, each named after past and present leaders of Bauchi State, symbolizing continuity, legacy, and the shared responsibility of building a greener and more prosperous future.
