Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has dissolved the State Executive Council, directing all Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most Senior officers in their Ministries with immediate effect.
This was contained in a statement issued by Onwuka Nzeshi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
Part of the statement reads; “His Excellency further expresses his deepest appreciation to the outgoing members of the Executive Council wishing them the best in their future endeavours.”
This announcement has generated reactions and counter reactions from Nigerians. Some believed this cannot be unconnected with the political crisis in the state over control of the state structure between the incumbent governor and the former governor, Nyesom Wike.
