The Super Eagles players and officials are preparing to leave Libya after reportedly enduring over 14 hours of difficult treatment from the host country on Sunday. The news was shared by a sports commentator, Pooja Media, via his X account on Monday.
In his post, he stated, “Super Eagles players and all officials are boarding to fly out of Libya to Nigeria. Thank God.”
A player, Bruno Onyemaechi, also confirmed the situation, expressing his relief in a post: “Me and Libya, I don wash my hands commot. Nothing concerns me and una again. Thank God I’m going back.”
Earlier reports indicated that Libyan authorities had allegedly refused the Super Eagles’ chartered flight, Value Jet, permission and aviation fuel needed for the team’s return to Nigeria.
The Nigerian Super Eagles have been stranded in Libya now for over 14 hours
