Estevao scored a dramatic 95th minute winner to hand Chelsea a 2-1 victory and condemn Liverpool to their third straight defeat in all competitions.

Esteavo

The Reds had been hoping to respond after back-to-back losses against Crystal Palace and Galatasaray. Their poor run has also seen them slip from the top of the Premier League, with Arsenal moving ahead following their win over West Ham on saturday

Liverpool’s hopes were dashed when Brazilian teenager Estevao struck in stoppage time, sealing a deserved win for Chelsea. His goal sparked wild celebrations at Stamford Bridge, with head coach Enzo Maresca even running down the touchline to join in, an act that saw him sent off.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool had to fight back after falling behind early, with Moises Caicedo firing Chelsea ahead in the 14th minute with a thunderous strike from the edge of the box that flew into the top corner. The Reds levelled in the 63rd minute when Cody Gakpo pounced on a loose ball after Alexander Isak redirected Dominik Szoboszlai’s cross into his path.

Caicedo

Chelsea were the stronger side in the first half but lost some momentum after the break, particularly as their defensive issues mounted with both Benoît Badiashile and Josh Acheampong forced off through injury.

Florian Wirtz came on at half-time and gave Liverpool a brief lift, but Chelsea finished the stronger side. The hosts piled on the pressure late in the game, with substitutes Jamie Gittens and Estevao both testing stand-in goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who was deputising for the injured Alisson. Mamardashvili also had to tip over another powerful long-range effort from Caicedo.

Equalise

Enzo Fernández came close to giving Chelsea the lead when he headed Estevao’s cross against the outside of the post. Moments later, the teenager made no mistake himself, tapping in Marc Cucurella’s low delivery to seal Chelsea’s first league win in four matches.
