Barcelona is considering free agents Claudio Bravo and Wojciech Szczesny as potential replacements for German international Marc Andre Ter Stegen, who is sidelined until the end of the season due to injury.
Barca has made contact with Szczesny, as rumor has it that the former Juventus goalkeeper has been persuaded and will come out of retirement a few weeks after hanging up his boots.
Claudio Bravo has also been contacted, but the Blaugrana have given top priority to the Polish international.
Hansi Flick believes there is no pressure on backup goalkeeper Inaki Pena, who is still slated to start in Stegen’s place.
During a press conference, Flick said to the reporters, “We will see what we do. We also have very young players in defense.”
“We trust Inaki Pena, and we don’t feel under pressure right now.”
Wednesday’s La Liga match between Barcelona and Getafe at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis will put Pena to the test.
The German manager has won every point that has been available in La Liga since taking over at the Catalan club. Barca has scored 22 goals, giving up five goals in six games, and only kept a clean sheet.
