Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources in Lagos State, announced on his social media accounts today that the anti open defecation squad carried out an early morning operation at Ebute Ero and areas around Lagos Island to curb open defecation and other environmental violations.
The Commissioner said five people were caught during the operation.
He said the suspects have been taken to the enforcement office at Sura‑Simpson for further investigation. They will later be moved to the headquarters of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps in Oshodi for prosecution in line with the state’s environmental laws, the Commissioner added.
