Commuters and residents of Apo district in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja have hailed the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike for the dualization project of the Apo-Waru road. The commuters expressed their joy, with the believe that upon completion, the road will ease traffic congestion along the Apo-Waru.
The road project was awarded to CGC Nigeria last year and work has since commenced on the road. Some of the commuters who spoke with AfrikTimes on Saturday morning expressed their feelings as regards the road project.

A cab driver simply identified as Samson who shared his thoughts said he’s happy about the project, expressing his appreciation to the Minister for the project.
“I must sincerely appreciate the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike for initiating this project. This will go a long way to ease movement to and fro Apo district.”
As at the time AfrikTimes visited the construction site, the Foreman, Abdulaziz Haruna reiterated the commitment of the construction firm to the timely completion of the road project before the first half of the year.

“We are committed to ensuring we meet the deadline as handed down to us by the Minister. We will ensure we finish before June so that the road can be free to users.”
A resident of the area simply identified as Ike who spoke with AfrikTimes said he’s happy about the road protest. He emphasized that upon completion, movement from Apo to other parts of the FCT won’t take much time as it is now.
“I like what the Minister is doing here. When they complete this road, we won’t spend plenty time going from here to other parts of Abuja again.”
