Meanwhile, the Command also announced the commencement of activities for the 2026 National Police Day celebration, themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.”

The week-long programme is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 30, with sanitation and environmental cleaning exercises across selected locations in Ibadan and other major towns, alongside a free medical outreach in collaboration with police medical units.

Other activities include a walkathon for peace and public safety on March 31, which will take off from the Police Headquarters in Ibadan and end at the Challenge area, as well as a community engagement and sensitisation programme on April 1, focusing on electoral violence prevention and safe driving practices.

The Command added that families of fallen officers will be honoured on April 2 at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where cheques will be presented in recognition of officers who died in active service.

The celebration will culminate in a grand finale on April 7 at Eagle Square, Abuja, featuring a ceremonial parade and tactical display.

The Police Command called on residents, community leaders, and stakeholders across the state to participate actively in the events, noting that the initiative is aimed at strengthening trust, cooperation, and sustainable peace between the police and the public.
