Godwin Awaji-Iroso Abiodun, who represented Nigeria at the Mister Cosmopolitan 2025 contest in Bangkok, has been named Mister Cosmopolitan Africa, even though he did not reach the competition’s final five.

The grand finale took place on Sunday at Siam Fantasy, Asiatique, with contestants from different parts of the world vying for the title. The event featured several rounds, including a swimwear display, formal wear presentation, and final speeches from the top five.

Abiodun, a creative designer and former Mister Rivers State University (2023/2024), stood out in the Black Tuxedo Round, where he earned the award for Best in Formal Wear. He also reached the Top 10 and earlier in the week had clinched the Best Physique award during preliminary activities at MBK Centre, Bangkok.

While he did not move beyond the Top 10, his recognition as Mister Cosmopolitan Africa underscored Nigeria’s strong presence at the pageant.

The overall title went to Shawn Lin Yu Hsiang of Taiwan, with a Filipino contestant finishing first runner-up. South Africa’s Sandile Christo Gama placed second runner-up and also won Best Swimwear.

The five finalists consisted of the top four scorers and one contestant chosen through fan votes.

Abiodun’s continental title adds to his growing profile in pageantry and highlights Nigeria’s steady impact on international competitions.
