Ikorodu City retained their place at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League table after playing out a 1–1 draw with visitors Bayelsa United on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Bayelsa United took the lead in the 35th minute through forward Ettah Ikoi. However, substitute Olanrewaju Molade equalised for the hosts in the 64th minute to ensure the points were shared at full time.
The result leaves Ikorodu City one point ahead of second-placed Enugu Rangers, who were also held to a goalless draw away to Katsina United.
In another fixture, Shooting Stars suffered a heavy 4–1 defeat to Plateau United. Meanwhile, Nasarawa United defeated Bendel Insurance by a lone goal despite missing a second-half penalty.
In the next round of fixtures, Bendel Insurance will host Ikorodu City, Enugu Rangers will welcome Nasarawa United, Bayelsa United will face Rivers United, while Shooting Stars take on Kano Pillars, among other interesting matches to look out for.
