By Borno, Nigeria- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said yesterday that operatives of its Maiduguri Zonal Directorate arrested three individuals for the mutilation of the Naira.
The EFCC identified the suspects as Adam Muhammad, Muhammad Muhammad and Bashir Musa.The Commission said the suspects were arrested after a video that went viral on social media showed them using a five hundred naira note to clean mucus from their noses.The EFCC explained that after the video surfaced online, operatives traced the suspects and arrested them in the Maiduguri metropolitan area.
The Commission said the suspects are currently being investigated at the Maiduguri detention facility.The EFCC added that the suspects will be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
