Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on residents of Kano to intensify prayers for peace, unity, and sustainable development as Ramadan draws to a close and Eid-el-Fitr approaches.
He made the appeal during the 38th State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, urging citizens to use the spiritual period to seek divine intervention for the progress of the state.
The governor also encouraged Muslims to sustain prayers beyond Ramadan, stressing that collective supplication is key to stability and prosperity.
Highlighting recent developments, Yusuf revealed that five commissioners resigned following a political realignment aimed at strengthening collaboration with the federal government for economic growth and infrastructure development. He warned remaining cabinet members against disloyalty and urged commitment to his administration’s agenda.
He further congratulated candidates of the All Progressives Congress who won the February 21, 2026 by-elections, and Haruna Umar Doguwa on his emergence as the party’s state chairman.
On welfare efforts, the governor said the state distributed 600 motorcycles to social media influencers, set up 150 Ramadan feeding centres, and provided food items to vulnerable groups across all local governments.
Yusuf also appreciated support from Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, including ₦5 billion in assistance to fire victims, alongside ₦3 billion from the APC Governors Forum.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, unity, and improved welfare for the people.
