By Thousands of Muslim Ummah on Friday observed the two Rak’ah Eid prayer at the Yola Eid ground to commemorate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
The prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Modibbo Adama Central Mosque, Khadi Ahmadu Bobbo.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam admonished Muslims to remain united and live peacefully with one another in accordance with Islamic teachings. He emphasised the need for forgiveness among Muslims to enable them attract bountiful rewards from Almighty Allah.
Khadi Bobbo also encouraged the faithful to continue practising the good lessons learned during the month of Ramadan even after its conclusion. He further urged Muslims to extend support to the needy and less privileged in society.
Meanwhile, the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, appealed to Muslims to fear Allah in all their dealings.
He made the appeal shortly after a Durbar procession held at the Lamido’s Palace on Friday. Represented by the Galadima Adamawa, Mustapha Aminu Lamido, he stressed that it is the responsibility of every Muslim to uphold the teachings and traditions of Prophet Muhammad.
The Lamido congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and prayed for Almighty Allah to accept their good deeds and supplications.
He also cautioned farmers against cultivating along cattle routes to prevent conflicts between farmers and herders in the state.
In addition, the Lamido commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his infrastructural development efforts in the state and called on traditional leaders to remain security conscious and report suspicious activities to relevant security agencies.
The highlight of the Durbar procession was the presentation of a bunch of kolanuts to the Adamawa State Governor, who was represented by the Marafa Adamawa, Ibrahim Mijinyawa Yayaji.
