The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has revealed that there are no plans to offer Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle a new contract extension after the AFCON tournament in Morocco.
President of (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau stated this while speaking with Sports Journalist Osasu Obayiuwana and monitored by AfrikTimes in Abuja. Gusau explained that discussions regarding a contract extension for Chelle are premature, as the coach is only halfway through his current 2-year deal.
Recall that Chelle was appointed coach of the Super Eagles in January 2025, leading the three-time African champions to win Bronze after beating Egypt 4:2 on penalty at the just concluded (AFCON) in Morocco.
“For now, there’ll be no contract extension discussion with Chelle, We signed a 2-year contract with him in January 2025 and he’s still only halfway through his contract,” he said.
